BURLINGTON, Vt. - The Providence College men's lacrosse team fell to Vermont, 8-6, in non-conference action on Monday, April 10 in Burlington, Vt. The Friars were held scoreless in the final two quarters of the game after holding a 6-4 lead at halftime. The Catamounts recorded four unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to take the win.

Senior Michael Farley (Westfield, N.J.) and sophomore Devin McBride (Marblehead, Mass.) each scored two goals for Providence. Senior Mark Seyer (Kirkwood, Mo.) and junior Henry Pynchon (Ipswich, Mass.) tallied one goal apiece. Junior Brendan Ryan (Chatham, N.J.), senior Tom Kelly (Henniker, N.H.) and junior Mark Dillon (Gaithersburg, Md.) each were credited with one assist. Ryan's assist versus the Catamounts moves him into a tie for 12th all-time in program history with 47 career handouts, joining John Breen `87.

Andrew Kelleher tallied a game-high three goals for Vermont, including the go-ahead goal with 3:20 remaining in the game.

Junior goalkeeper Peter Littell (Upper Montclair, N.J.) made 13 saves in goal for Providence. Vermont goalkeeper Daryl Swarts earned the victory with nine saves, including five in the third quarter.

Vermont outshot Providence, 37-27, but the Friars held a 29-26 advantage in groundballs.

Providence (4-4, 3-1 MAAC) returns to action on Saturday, April 15 against Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opponent VMI at 1:00 p.m. The game will be played at PC's Friar Lacrosse Complex in Providence, R.I.
