Women's Basketball Improves To 3-0 On European Tour

OSLO, Norway - The Providence College women's basketball team defeated the Norwegian National Team, 75-53, on Friday, August 23 in Oslo, Norway. Providence improves to 3-0 on its tour of Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
Senior Kacee Wheeler (Bakersfield, Calif.) led the Friars with 15 points, and added four rebounds. Sophomore Jessica Simmonds (South Orange, N.J.) recorded 12 points and a team-high nine rebounds.
Sophomore Gayle Nwafili (Maplewood, N.J.) added 10 points, six rebounds, six blocked shots and one steal. Sophomore Quiana Copeland (Mattapan, Mass.) registered eight points and seven rebounds.
Providence will travel to Copenhagen, Denmark on Saturday via cruise ship. The Friars will finish off their European game schedule with two games in Denmark versus two Danish club teams.
