Men's Lacrosse Defeats Siena, 7-6

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. -- Providence College defeated Siena College, 7-6, and earned its first win of the season in men's lacrosse action on Monday, April 12 in Loudonville, N.Y. Senior Matt Pymm led the offense for the Friars with three points (two goals, one assist).

Providence led 6-4 after three quarters of action. Siena pressed in the final 15 minutes of play, outscoring the Friars, 2-1, but could not even the game.

Friar netminder Rob Chambers played strong in goal for PC, recording 17 saves while facing 37 shots.

Chris Callaghan recorded a game-high three goals for the Saints.

With the win, Providence raised its record to 1-8 overall and 1-4 in MAAC action, while Siena fell to 1-8 overall and 0-6 in league play.

The Friars will return to action on Wednesday, April 14 against Quinnipiac College at Hamden, Conn. at 3:30 p.m.
