O'Neill will compete in the 800-meter semifinals on Friday, March 13 at 7:25 p.m. ET. The field of 16 runners will vie for eight spots in Saturday's final, scheduled for 6:10 p.m. ET.
O'Neill enters the national championship meet after earning BIG EAST Most Outstanding Female Track Performer honors at the 2026 BIG EAST Indoor Championships on Feb. 28. She captured the 800-meter title in 2:01.15 and helped the 4x800-meter relay team win gold in 8:38.58.
On Feb. 22, O'Neill broke her own indoor program record in the 800 meters at the Saucony Battle for Boston, clocking 2:00.33. The mark ranks ninth all-time in NCAA indoor history, set the Irish senior indoor record and met the qualifying standard for the World Championships.
At the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, O'Neill was a member of the distance medley relay team that placed third and earned First Team All-America honors with a time of 10:46.28, less than a second behind the first-place team. O'Neill ran the 800-meter leg of the relay.
O'Neill is the first female athlete in program history to compete in the 800 meters at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
