PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's hockey team was selected to finish second in the 2025 Hockey East Preseason Coaches' Poll released on Tuesday (Sept. 16). Providence earned three first-place votes while tallying 91 points in the poll.
The Friars return five of its six top scorers from 2024-25 –
Hudson Malinoski (Saskatoon, Sask.),
Tanner Adams (Northport, N.Y.),
Graham Gamache (Edmonton, Alta.),
John Mustard (Oradell, N.J.) and
Will Elger (Westerville, Ohio).
A revamped roster consists of 12 newcomers to the program, highlighted by the 10
th overall selection of the Anaheim Ducks in the 2025 NHL Draft,
Roger McQueen (Saskatoon, Sask.) and Chicago fourth-rounder
Julius Sumpf (Munich, Germany).
Providence opens the season with a pair of exhibition games against Simon Fraser (Oct. 3) and Quinnipiac (Oct. 5) before kicking off the regular season with a two-game home series against Michigan (Oct. 10-11).
