Kaysia will attend Providence and compete with the women's basketball team during the 2025-26 season.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College women's basketball Head Coach Erin Batth announced today [May 16] that graduate student Nalani Kaysia (Washington, D.C.) has signed an athletic aid agreement to attend Providence and compete for the Friars during the 2025-26 season. Kaysia played three seasons of NCAA Division I basketball at George Mason (2022-25) and will have one year of eligibility remaining.

"We are so excited to have Nalani and her daughter, Xéla, join us in Friartown," Coach Batth said. "She is an athletic forward and a fierce competitor, who sprints the floor in transition. She is an exceptional rebounder and has good shot-blocking ability. On the offensive end, she can attack from the perimeter, score in the paint with her back to the basket or face-up and attack. She also has a nice mid-range jumper."

Kaysia, a 6-2 forward, played 68 games at George Mason with 65 appearances in the starting line-up. In three seasons with the Patriots, she averaged 8.0 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocked shots per game. Last year, she started 32 games and averaged 7.5 points and 9.7 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and 1.0 assist per game. She finished the season ranked fourth in the A-10 in rebounding and 35th in the nation. After being named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team in 2023, she claimed Atlantic 10 Preseason Third Team honors in each of the next two seasons. In 2024-25, the team captain helped George Mason to the Atlantic 10 Championship. At the conclusion of the tournament, Kaysia was selected to the All-Tournament Team.

Prior to attending George Mason, Kaysia played three seasons of NCAA Division I volleyball at Charlotte (2019-21).

Kaysia was a three-sport athlete at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C. For her career, she totaled 1,035 points and 1,335 rebounds and averaged a double-double in three-consecutive seasons. As a senior in 2018-19, she averaged 12.0 points and 13.6 rebounds per game and recorded 10+ rebounds in all but one game. She earned numerous accolades in high school, including First-Team All-USA Today, All-State, All-League and All-Met. She also competed for the Quaker's volleyball and track and field programs.
