PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College junior Philip Svedebäck (Växjö, Sweden) was named Stop It Goaltending's Hockey East Goaltender of the Month for December on Friday, January 3. This marks Svedebäck's first-career monthly recognition as a Friar.
Svedebäck led all Hockey East goaltenders in December with four wins, assisting the Friars to their current seven-game winning streak. He stopped 79-of-87 shots he faced last month, good for a 2.00 GAA and .908 save percentage. Overall in 2024-25, Svedebäck is 11-2-1 with a 2.24 GAA and .918 save percentage in 14 games played.
The No. 5 Friars return to action on Tuesday, January 7 for the annual Mayor's Cup against Brown University. Faceoff is slated for 7 PM at Meehan Auditorium.
