Ugne Sirtautaite And Marta Morales Romero Set To Compete In FIBA-Sponsored Events

Sirtautaite will compete in the FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket; Morales Romero will compete in the FIBA 3x3 U21 Nations League.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College rising sophomore Ugne Sirtautaite (Kaunas, Lithuania) with compete for her native Lithuania in the FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket. The tournament will be held on July 6-16 in Klaipeda and Vilnius, Lithuania. Additionally, rising senior Marta Morales Romero (Granada, Spain) will compete for Spain in the FIBA U21 3x3 Nations League. The tournament will begin in Bucharest, Romania (July 5-7), with a second stop scheduled in Szolnok, Hungary (Aug. 2-4).
Sirtautaite, a 6-2 forward, has represented Lithuania at the FIBA U16 Women's European Championship (2019), FIBA U18 Women's European Challengers (2021), FIBA U18 Women's European Championship (2022) and most recently the FIBA U19 World Cup held in Madrid, Spain (2023).
In her rookie season at Providence College, Sirtautaite played in 28 of the Friars' 34 games, making her collegiate debut on Nov. 7 vs. Hampton. She averaged 2.6 points and 1.7 rebounds per game.
A total of 16 teams will compete in the 2024 FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket and have been split into four groups for the Group Phase. Lithuania will compete in Group A along with Latvia, France and Slovenia.
Lithuania tips off the tournament on July 6 vs. Latvia at 11:00 a.m. ET (17:00 CET).

Morales Romero, a 6-1 guard/forward, has represented Spain in a number of events, including the 2023 FIBA U20 Women's European Championship, 2021 FIBA U19 World Cup, 2019 FIBA U16 Women's European Championship and 2018 FIBA U16 Women's European Championship.
The FIBA 3x3 Nations League will feature 13 different conferences comprising players under the age of 23 (including U21 teams). There will be seven conferences from Europe, including three U21 squads, two from Africa and Asia, and one each from Americas and U21 Asia-Pacific. Morales Romero will compete in the "Europe 2" conference.
