PROVIDENCE, R.I. – USA Lacrosse announced today [June 27] the 77 players invited to a three-day tryout for the 2025 U.S. Men's U20 National Team. The tryout will be held at USA Lacrosse headquarters on June 28-30. Providence College men's lacrosse will be represented by three players at the tryout, including returners
Rhett Chambers (Larchmont, N.Y.) and
Leo Sequenzia (Westport, Conn.) along with incoming freshman
Ben Dale (Wheaton, Ill.).
Chambers finished his 2024 rookie season at Providence College with 14 points on seven goals and seven assists. The attackman recorded at least one point in nine of the 15 games he played. He recorded a season-high three points on two occasions vs. Holy Cross (1g/2a) and Merrimack (2g/1a).
Sequenzia played two games for Providence as a rookie in 2024. The midfielder scored his first collegiate goal against Harvard on Feb. 17.
Dale, and attackman, will attend Providence College and compete for the Friars beginning in the Fall of 2024. He recently completed a stellar career at Millbrook School (2021-24), where he recorded 342 points on 157 goals and 185 assists in just three seasons. Upon conclusion of his senior season in 2024, Dale was earned U.S. Lacrosse All-America honors and was named New England 2 West Player of the Year.
The tryouts are the first step toward finalizing the roster that will represent the United State in the World Lacrosse Men's U20 Championship next summer in Seoguipo, South Korea on Jeju Island from July 18-27, 2025. The U.S. has won each of the previous nine junior men's world championship events, most recently in 2022.
