NEW YORK, N.Y. – Providence College men's lacrosse players
Ryan Bell (Smithtown, N.Y.),
James Corasaniti (New York, N.Y.) and Richie Jospeh (Longmeadow, Mass.) earned BIG EAST Weekly Honors on Monday, April 8, following the team's BIG EAST victory over #RV Villanova. Bell was named Offensive Player of the Week, Corasaniti was named Defensive Player of the Week and Joseph was named to the Weekly Honor Roll.
Bell, who earned BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, paced the Friars' offense with a career-high seven assists. He also became Providence College's all-time assists leader during the game, with 107 career assists, passing Matt Pymm '99, who closed his career with 102 assists. The junior leads the team in points, with 48, on 14 goals and 34 assists. Bell currently ranks first in the BIG EAST and eighth in the nation in assists per game (3.09) and ranks first in the BIG EAST in points per game (4.36). It marks the second time this season that Bell has earned BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week accolades. He also has been named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team and the Tewaaraton Award Watch List.
Corasaniti, who was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, made a season-high 17 saves and recorded a .586 save percentage in the victory against Villanova. He also scored his first career goal in Saturday's game. He's started every game for Providence this season and has registered 123 saves. The graduate student was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team and was named BIG EAST Goalie of the Year at the conclusion of the 2023 campaign.
Joseph, who was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, recorded four goals vs. the Wildcats on Saturday. Joseph currently ranks first in the BIG EAST and 10
th in the nation in goals per game (3.00) and ranks first among all NCAA Division I players in shot percentage (.541). It marks the second time this season that Joseph has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
