PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's lacrosse team was defeated by No. 8 Georgetown, 15-10, on Saturday, March 30 in Providence, R.I. The Friars dropped to 4-6 overall and 0-1 in the BIG EAST, while the Hoyas improved to 7-2 overall and 1-0 in the BIG EAST.
Richie Joseph (Longmeadow, Mass.) and
Michael Chabra (Reading, Mass.) each scored four goals for the Friars.
1st Quarter:
- The Friars got off to a 4-2 lead heading into the second quarter.
- The two teams exchanged a pair of goals to start the game making it 2-2.
Richie Joseph (Longmeadow, Mass.) and
Michael Chabra (Reading, Mass) were responsible for the Friars' goals.
- Providence closed out the first quarter with two unanswered goals by Chabra and
Owen Finetto (Haworth, N.J.).

James Corasaniti (New York, N.Y.) made three saves in the first quarter.
2nd Quarter:
- Georgetown used a 9-0 run to take the lead an 11-5 heading into halftime.
- Chabra scored his third goal of the game 35 seconds into the quarter to give Providence the 5-2 lead.
- The Hoyas went on an 9-0 run to close the quarter.
- Georgetown went 9-11 at the X in the second quarter.
3rd Quarter:
- The two teams exchanged a pair of goals to start the second half. Joseph recorded his second goal of the game, while Chabra recorded his fourth goal of the game.
- No goals were scored the final 5:38 of the third quarter.
- Providence led in shots (11-7), shots on goal (7-4) and faceoffs won (3-2) in the third.
4th Quarter
- The Hoyas scored the first goal of the quarter, before Joseph responded with back-to-back goals.

Parker Kennedy (Port Coquitlam, BC.) scored his third goal of the season to cut the score to 14-10.
- The Hoyas scored the final goal of the game to win, 15-10.
Notes:
- Chabra had a team-high four goals. This marked his second hattrick of the season.
- Joseph recorded four goals, which marked his fifth hattrick of the season. He remains the only players on the Friars' roster to have scored a goal in the team's first 10 games.
- Finetto recorded his first career goal.

Ryan Bell (Smithtown, N.Y.) recorded one assist. It marked his 101
st career assist. He is two assists away from taking sole possession of the programs all-time assists record.
What's Next: The Friars travel to Villanova, Pa. on Saturday, April 6 to face Villanova. Faceoff is set for 12:00 p.m.
