CAMBRIDGE, MASS. – The Providence College men's lacrosse team was defeated by Harvard, 23-7, on Saturday, Feb. 17 in Cambridge, Mass. Providence dropped to 1-2 on the season, while the Crimson opened the season, 1-0.
1st Quarter:
- Four different Friars scored in the first quarter.
- Harvard got on the board first, but Providence's
Ryan Bell converted on an unassisted goal to tie the game at 1-1.
- The teams traded goals, once again, with the Crimson striking first. The Friars'
Jack Horrigan tied it back up with an assist from
Gregg Dennison.
- Harvard scored back-to-back goals to claim a 4-2 advantage.

Chris Cusolito and
Richie Joseph scored back-to-back goals to tie the game (4-4).
- Harvard closed the quarter with two unanswered goals to take a 6-4 lead at the break.
2nd Quarter:
- The Crimson scored outscored the Friars 5-0 to extend their lead to 11-4 at the end of the half.
- Harvard outshot Providence, 20-12 in the first half and went 10 for 13 at the faceoff X.
3rd Quarter:
- Harvard outscored Providence, 6-1, in the third quarter.
- Harvard scored three goals in the first five minutes, extending their scoring run to 10-0.
- Joseph scored his second goal of the game off a feed from
Rhett Chambers to end the Friars' scoring drought.
- The Crimson closed out the quarter with three unanswered goals to extend their lead to 17-5
4th Quarter
- The Crimson scored back-to-back goals to start the final quarter

Leo Sequenzia and
Patrick McAleavey scored back-to-back goals for the Friars. It marked the first goal of Sequenzia's career, and the first goal of the season for McAleavey.
- Harvard closed the game on a 4-0 scoring run to win 23-7
Notes:
- Bell's two points moved him into 15
th place on the Friars all-time scoring list (118). He owns 39 goals and 79 assists in his career.
- Six different Friars scored in the game, including Joseph (two), Bell (one), Horrigan (one), Cusolito (one), Sequenzia (one) and McAleavey (one).
- Harvard outshot Providence 43-29
