PROVIDENCE, R.I.– USA Lacrosse announced on today (Dec. 4) the 2027 U.S. Men's Senior National Team Coaching Staff. Providence College Head Coach
Bobby Benson will serve as an assistant coach. The U.S. Men's Senior National Team will represent the United States in the 2027 World Lacrosse Men's Championship in Japan.
In his first two seasons as Providence's head coach, Benson helped the Friars secure back-to-back berths in the BIG EAST Tournament. Under the guidance of head coach Benson, three Friars were named to the 2024 NEILA Division I All-New England Team.
Michael Chabra earned First-Team honors, while
Ryan Bell and
Gregg Dennison were named to the Second Team. Additionally, Benson coached Bell to BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2024, making him the first player in Friar history to receive this award. Prior to joining Providence, Benson served as the offensive coordinator at Maryland, where he contributed to the Terps' run to the NCAA title in 2022.
