Providence, R.I. - The Providence College volleyball team defeated Central Connecticut in three sets (3-0) in their second match of the Annual Friar Classic on Saturday, September 9 in Providence, R.I.

FIRST SET HIGHLIGHTS: The Friars won set one, 25-9.
- The Friars got off to a quick start taking a 7-2 lead.
- Providence went on to score seven of the next eight points making it 14-3.
- Providence controlled the rest of the way, winning 25-9.

Shaliyah Rhoden (Rowlett, Texas) registered five kills in the first set.

SECOND SET HIGHLIGHTS: The Friars won set two, 25-11, to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
- Providence started the second set with a 6-0 lead.
- The Friars stretched their lead to 12-4, forcing a Central Connecticut timeout.
- Providence went on a 13-7 run to win the set.

Kayla Grant (Rowlett, Texas) and Rhoden each tallied four kills in the second set.Â

THIRD SET HIGHLIGHTS:Â The Friars won the third set, 25-16, to win the match.
- The two teams went back-and-forth to start the set making it 6-6.
- Providence went on a 6-1 run to make it 12-7.
- The Friars closed out the set to win the match.Â
