PROVIDENCE, R.I.-Â The Providence College volleyball team (10-11, 1-7 BIG EAST) fell to Georgetown University (11-10, 4-4 BIG EAST) in four sets (3-1) on Saturday, Oct. 18 in BIG EAST action.

FIRST SET HIGLIGHTS:Â Georgetown earned a 25-16 victory in the first set.
- Georgetown came out strong with a 9-4 lead, forcing a Providence timeout.
- The Hoyas extended their lead to 20-12, prompting a second Friars timeout.
- Georgetown maintained its lead to win the set, 25-16.

SECOND SET HIGHLIGHTS:Â Georgetown won the second set, 25-21.
- The two teams went back-and-forth, tying the set at 13-13.
- Georgetown took the lead at 15-13 and forced Providence to call a timeout.
- The Friars called another timeout after the Hoyas extended their lead to 23-19.
- Georgetown maintained its lead to win the set, 25-21.
- Sophomore Sophia Adkins (Cincinnati, Ohio) and junior Lyric Berry (Wylie, Texas) led the Friars with six kills each through the opening two sets.

THIRD SET HIGHLIGHTS:Â Providence won the third set, 25-16.
- Providence came out strong with an 11-8 lead, forcing a Georgetown timeout.
- A kill by junior Macy Taylor (Rowlett, Texas) extended PC's lead to 18-12, prompting a second Georgetown timeout.
- The Friars took a timeout after the Hoyas narrowed their lead to 20-16.
- Providence went on a 5-0 run to win the set, 25-16.

FOURTH SET HIGHLIGHTS: Georgetown won the set, and the match 3-1.
- The two teams played evenly and found the set tied at 9-9 in the early going.
- Providence took the lead at 15-11, forcing a Georgetown timeout.
- A kill by Adkins put the Friars ahead 20-14, prompting a second Hoyas timeout.
- Georgetown narrowed PC's lead to 23-21.
- The Hoyas went on a 5-1 run to win the set, 26-24, and the match, 3-1.

- Adkins led the Friars with 15 kills.
- Freshman Tori Otter (Rogers, Ark.) hit .450 with 10 kills.
- Redshirt senior Hadley Pride (Nashville, Tenn.) led the defense with 24 digs.
- The Friars notched 54 kills, eight blocks and 54 digs.

WHAT'S NEXT:Â The Friars return to Alumni Hall on Friday, Oct. 24 at 5:00 p.m. to face No. 13 Creighton. They then hit to the road to play UConn on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 2:00 p.m.
