QUEENS, N.Y.. - Providence College volleyball defeated by St. Johns in three sets on Saturday, September 23 in Queens, N.Y.
FIRST SET HIGHLIGHTS: St. John's won the first set, 25-19.
- The Red Storm got off to a 6-4 lead to start the first set.
- The Friars went on a 7-5 run to tie the set at 11-11.
- St. John's scored seven of the next 11 points to take an 18-15 lead.
- The Red storm closed out the set winning, 25-19.
- The Friars had three service aces in the first set.
SECOND SET HIGHLIGHTS: The Red Storm won set two, 25-16, for the 2-0 lead in the match.
- The Friars started the first set with a 3-1 lead causing St. John's to call a timeout.
- Providence extended its lead to 10-5 in the middle of the set.
- The Red Storm went on a 11-1 run to take a 16-11 lead.
- St. John's controlled the lead the rest of the set to win 25-16.

Lyric Berry (Wylie, Texas) and
Kayla Grant (Rowlett, Texas) each had four kills in the second set.
THIRD SET HIGHLIGHTS: St. John's won the set, 25-18, to win the match.
- The two teams went back-and-forth to start the set making it 4-4.
- The Red Storm scored 10 of the next 16 points to take a 14-10 lead.
- St. John's held onto their lead the rest of the set to win the match.

Shaliyah Rhoden (Rowlett, Texas) recorded five kills in the third set
MATCH NOTES:
- Rhoden led the Friars' offense with 11 kills.

Savannah Ivie (Frisco, Texas) had a team-high 10 digs.
- As a team, the Friars registered 28 kills and 28 digs.
