PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College volleyball was defeated by DePaul in straight sets on Saturday, September 30 in Providence, R.I. The Friars host Marquette tomorrow, October 1 at 1:00 p.m.
FIRST SET HIGHLIGHTS: The Blue Demons took set one, 25-17.
- The two teams went back-and-forth to start the set making it 6-6.
- DePaul went on a 9-3 run to take a 15-9 lead causing a Friars timeout.
- The Blue Demons closed out the set winning, 25-17

Sammie Ruggles (North Olmsted, Ohio) recorded four digs in the first set.
SECOND SET HIGHLIGHTS: DePaul wins set two, 27-25, to take the 2-0 lead in the match.
- The Blue Demons got off to a quick start taking the 6-1 lead.
- The Friars scored four unanswered points to cut the score to 6-5.
- The two teams went back-and-forth through the middle of the set making it 11-10 DePaul.
- The Blue Demons extended their lead to 22-18 forcing the Friars to call a timeout.
- Providence went on a 6-2 run to tie the set at 24-24.
- DePaul closed out the set winning, 27-25.

Shaliyah Rhoden (Rowlett, Texas) registered six kills in the second set.
THIRD SET HIGHLIGHTS: The Blue Demons win the third set, 25-22, to win the match.
- The two teams went back-and-fort to start the set at 6-6.
- DePaul took a 14-12 lead in the middle of the set before the Friars tied it at 16-16.
- The Blue Demons went on a 9-6 run to win the set.

Lyric Berry (Wylie, Texas) recorded four kills in the third set.
