Richie Joseph Named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week

The attacker earned his first career-hat trick in Providence’s 17-10 victory over Fairfield.

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Providence College men's lacrosse player, Richie Joseph (Longmeadow, Mass.), earned BIG EAST Freshman of the Week recognition on Monday, Mar. 6 after the Friars' dominant 17-10 victory over Fairfield.
 
In Saturday's matchup against Fairfield, Joseph secured his first career-hat trick, setting his career-high at three goals in the win. Joseph's points over the weekend give him seven points on the season, putting him fourth on the team.
 
Earlier in the season, the freshman earned his first career-points against Holy Cross, opening the season with two assists. Joseph earned his next points against Siena, adding a third assist to his resume and scoring his first career-goal.
 
WHAT'S NEXT… The Friars will close out their two-game homestand on Saturday, Mar. 11 as they welcome Stony Brook to Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium. Opening face-off is set for 12:00 p.m.
