NEW YORK, N.Y. – Providence College men's lacrosse players
Jack Horrigan (Lutherville, Md.) and
James Corasaniti (New York, N.Y.) each earned BIG EAST weekly honor recognition on Monday, Mar. 13. Both athletes were featured on the Honor Roll after Providence's 10-9 overtime victory against Stony Brook on Mar. 11.
Horrigan led the Friars' offense against the Seawolves, scoring a game-high four goals and earning his fourth hat trick of the season. After an 8-8 tie late in the fourth quarter, the sophomore scored his third goal of the game with 1:22 left in regulation to give Providence the 9-8 advantage. When the Seawolves forced overtime, Horrigan fired again for the golden goal and the 10-9 victory with 2:28 left in overtime.
Corasaniti compiled a season-high 19 saves in goal throughout the game. The graduate student registered a .679 save percentage. This marks Corasaniti's fifth double-digit save game this season.
What's Next:
The Friars will return to action on Saturday, Mar. 18 as they travel to the USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md. to face Hobart College in the FCA Lacrosse Invitational. Face-off is set for 3:00 p.m.
