Walinski and Becker Earn Hockey East Weekly Honors

Walinski was named Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week for the second-consecutive week, while Becker was named Army ROTC Defender of the Week.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. –Hope Walinski and Brooke Becker of the No.14 Providence College women's hockey team were each awarded Hockey East Weekly Honors as announced on Monday, Feb. 27. Walinski was named Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week for the second-consecutive week, while Becker was named Army ROTC Defender of the Week.
 
Hope Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) made her second collegiate start this past weekend in the quarterfinal round of the Hockey East tournament. Walinski tallied 30 saves on Saturday, Feb. 25 against the University of Maine. Walinski's efforts held Maine to two goals.
 
Brooke Becker (Orchard Park, N.Y.) recorded a career-high of four points during Saturday's game. She led the team in total points while assisting on four of the five goals scored. This season, Becker has notched three goals and 13 assists.
 
UP NEXT
The Friars will travel to Burlington, Vt. to take on No. 2 seeded Vermont on Wednesday, Mar. 1 in the Hockey East semifinal round. Time of puck drop is 7:30 p.m. The teams met in the 2021-22 postseason, with Vermont earning a 4-1 win on home ice in the Hockey East Quarterfinals.
