PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College men's and women's indoor track teams will travel to Chicago, Ill. for the BIG EAST Indoor Track Championships on Friday, Feb. 24 and Saturday, Feb. 25. The two-day event will be held at the Dr. Conrad Worrill Indoor Track and Field Facility and will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports. Day one of the meet will begin at 9:55 a.m. and the final day will begin at 10:00 a.m.

Headlining the Friar women will be
Shannon Flockhart (Longstanton, England) and
Lilly Tuck (Sunderland, Canada) in the mile and 5000-meters, respectively. At the 2022 BIG EAST Indoor Championships, Flockhart won the mile with a time of 4:46.71 and looks to defend her title this weekend. Tuck ran a personal-best at the John Thomas Terrier Classic on Jan. 28, finishing the 5000-meters in a time of 16:06.68.
For the men,
DJ Principe (Johnston, R.I.) and
Marcelo Rocha (Peabody, Mass.) will be competing in the 3,000-meters and 5,000-meters, respectively. Principe ran a personal-best of 7:54.74 in the 3000-meters at the John Thomas Terrier Classic on Jan. 27. At the Sharon Colyear Season Opener on Dec. 3 in Boston, Mass. Rocha set a personal-best in the 5000-meters of 13:39.53.
Also competing in the women's mile will be
Kimberley May (Auckland, New Zealand).
Orla O'Connor (Waterford, Ireland) will also run the 5000-meters event.
Alex O'Neill (Ennis, Ireland) and
Halle Atkinson (Franklin, Mass.) will compete in the 800-meters.
Meg Hughes (Rochester, Mass.) will compete in the 400-meters, as will Jillian Fenerty (Franklin, Mass.).
Nicole Borowiec (Morristown, N.J.) will run the 60-meter hurdles.
Pat Thygesen (Brisbane, Australia) will run the men's 3,000-meter event.
Abdel Laadjel (Lucan, Ireland),
David McGlynn (Willamstown, Ireland) and
Shane Coffey (Naas, Ireland) will also compete in the 5,000-meters.
Zane Powell (Auckland, New Zealand) is running in the mile event and
Brett Lehman (Lower Gwynedd, Pa.) will run the 400-meters.
Josh Lewin (West Chester, Pa.) and
Tim Dolan (Cinnaminson, N.J.) will compete in the 800-meters.
