PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association recognized more than 250 student-athletes as NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction on Feb. 16. Providence College junior defender
Emily Antunes (Lebanon, N.J.) was among the list of honorees.
The Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2022-23 academic year.
Antunes is a three-time NFHCA Division I All-Academic Squad selection and earned Scholar of Distinction status for the first time. She is pursuing her undergraduate degree in health policy management and is completing a minor in Black studies.
On the field, Antunes has been a staple in the Friars' defensive unit. She has played in 40 career game and has appeared in the starting line-up each time.
