PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College field hockey team scored four second-half goals to defeat Bryant, 4-0, on Sept. 12 at Lennon Family Field in Providence, R.I. Providence improved to 4-0 on the season, while the Bulldogs dropped to 2-3.
GAME FLOW:
• The two teams were tied, 0-0, at halftime after two scoreless quarters.
• Providence led in shots (4-3) and shots on goal (3-2), while Bryant recorded the lone penalty corner of the first half.
• The Friars got two goals in a span of 53-seconds in the third quarter to gain a 2-0 lead.

Bo Martina struck first at 35:09 off a feed from
Macie Pennisi.

Ari Ftorek followed with her second goal of the season at 36:02 as she collected a long transition pass from
Martu Torre Festa.
• Providence got two more goals in the fourth to seal the game.
• Ftorek notched her second of the day at the 48:46 mark.
Florencia Talarico sent a pass toward goal that was deflected by
Lily Procaccianti and then by Ftorek to score the goal. Procaccianti was credited with the assist.

Lilia Payne added an insurance goal at 56:25, marking her second of the season. She redirected a feed from
Carly van Benten.
NOTES:
• Freshman goalkeeper
Ava Porter recorded her first career shutout and moved to 4-0 on the season. She recorded three saves against Bryant.
• Ftorek recorded the first multi-goal game of her career and ranks second on the team in scoring with six points on three goals.
• Van Benten and
Lily Procaccianti are tied for the team lead in scoring with seven points each. Van Benten owns one goal and a team-best five assists. Procaccianti has three goals and one assist.
• Martina, Ftorek and Procaccianti are tied for the team lead in goals with three each.
• Providence is off to its best start since 2006 when the team rattled off seven-straight wins to begin the year (7-0).
WHAT'S NEXT:
• The Friars will continue their seven-game home stand on Sunday, Sept. 14 as they welcome New Hampshire to Lennon Family Field. The match is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. and will be streamed on Friars Live.
