Olivia Olsen Named To BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Olsen averaged 14.5 points per game in a 2-0 week for the Friars.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior forward Olivia Olsen was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for women's basketball on Monday, Dec. 11. It marks her second appearance on the honor roll this season.
Olsen propelled the Friars to a 2-0 record last week with wins over Rhode Island (51-50) and Yale (63-58). She averaged 14.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals, 1.0 block and 1.0 assist per game. Olsen at combined 52.2-percent from the field last week (12-23).
In the win over Rhode Island, Olsen paced the team with 14 points and added seven boards, one assist, two blocks and two steals. Against Yale, she contributed 15 points on 7-10 shooting and added three boards, one assist and one steal. She scored 11 of her 15 points in the second half to help the Friars pull away.
For the season, Olsen leads the team in scoring (14.9 ppg), rebounding (7.8 rpg) and blocked shots (1.4 bpg) per game. She is shooting an impressive 58.7-percent from the field, which ranks third in the BIG EAST Conference.
The Friars (5-5) return to action on Saturday, Dec. 16 against Sacred Heart. The game will be played at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I. and is scheduled to tip-off at 5:00 p.m.
