PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College women's hockey alumna Genevieve Lacasse (Kingston, Ontario) has been invited to Hockey Canada's National Women's Program Selection Camp, set to take place Aug.3-14 in Calgary, Alta.
As an integral member of Canada Women's National Hockey Team, Lacasse has participated in Hockey Canada's Four Nations Cup, Canada's National Women's Team Fall Festival and Canada's 2014 and 2018 Women's Olympic Team, bringing home gold and silver medals respectively. Lacasse also has five appearances with Team Canada in the IIHF Women's World Championships (2012, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019).
Before graduating from Providence College in 2012, Lacasse broke numerous records throughout her four years. She currently holds records for most career wins (64), career games played (127), career saves (3,482) and career shutouts (20). Lacasse also broke Hockey East records for single tournament saves (127) and career tournament saves (276).
