Flockhart finished fourth in her heat in the 1,500 Meter Semifinal and advances to the Finals on Saturday.
EUGENE, ORE. – Providence College sophomore Shannon Flockhart (Longstanton, England) ran in the 1,500 Meter Semifinals at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon tonight (June 9). Flockhart finished fourth in her heat in a time of 4:21.76. She is one of the 12 women to advance to the NCAA 1,500 Meter Finals. The top-five in each of the two heats, plus the next two best times advance to the Women's Finals, which will be on Saturday at 5:41 p.m. ET.
Flockhart, who was double Big East Champion (2022 Indoor Mile, 2022 Outdoor 1,500 Meters- 4:20.43) qualified for the 1,500 Meter Quarterfinal by placing second in her heat on May 26 at the 2022 East Division Regional in Bloomington, Ind. in a time of 4:13.91. She then won her Quarterfinal on May 28 in a time of 4:10.80, which established a facility record, Providence College record, personal best and qualified her for the NCAA Finals.
