Men's Lacrosse Players Named To 2022 NEILA Preseason Teams

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) announced today, February 18, its 2022 Preseason Teams. Five members of the Providence College lacrosse program were selected to the NEILA Division 1 Preseason Teams. Evan McGreen (Narragansett, R.I.) was a First Team selection and Matt Grillo (Setauket, N.Y.), Grant Latimer (Topsfield, Mass.), Chris Cusolito (Melrose, Mass.) and Mike O'Grady (Milton, Mass.) were named to the Second Team.
McGreen, a fifth-year captain, returns to the Friars offensive line after recording 13 points in the 2021 season. In the 2022 season opener against Holy Cross, McGreen led the team in scoring while recording a career-high six goals and eight assists.
Grillo, a senior captain, was most recently named to the 2022 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team after being selected to the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team at the conclusion of the 2021 season. Last season Grillo led the Friars in goals (22) and finished fourth on the team in points (25). To open the 2022 season, Grillo notched the 12th hat trick of his career against Holy Cross.
O'Grady, a senior captain, returns after 11 collected groundballs and four caused turnovers in the 2021 season.
Latimer, a junior, appeared in 10 games during the 2021 season and ranked second on the team in caused turnovers (11) while picking up 20 groundballs.
Cusolito finished his rookie campaign with the Friars with six points on two goals and four assists.
The Friars will travel to Loudonville, N.Y. to take on the Siena College Saints on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 12:00 p.m.
