Sandra Abstreiter Named Hockey East Goaltender Of The Week

Abstreiter recorded two shutouts against Union College and RPI.


PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Sandra Abstreiter (Freising, Germany) of the Providence College women's hockey team was named Hockey East Goaltender of the Week on Monday, Oct. 10.
 
Abstreiter had two shutouts over the weekend, with a total of 35 saves. On Friday, Oct. 7, Abstreiter had 18 saves during a 7-0 shutout against Union College. The following day (Oct. 8), Abstreiter had 17 saves against RPI to give the Friars a 2-0 shutout. 
 
The Friars take the ice next on Friday, Oct. 14 against Holy Cross at Schneider Arena in Providence, R.I.
