New York, N.Y.- Providence College men's lacrosse players
Matt Grillo (Setauket, N.Y.) and
Toby Burgdorf (Westfield, N.J.) earned BIG EAST Weekly Awards following their individual performances against St. John's on April 11. The Friars defeated the Red Storm, 19-9.
Grillo, who was named BIG EAST Attack Player of the Week, tallied a team-best seven points on five goals and two assists and picked up three groundballs. The five goals were a team-best in the victory over the Red Storm and tied a season-best. In the third quarter, Grillo scored three-straight Friar goals.
Burgdorf, who was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, recorded 15 saves and held a .625 save percentage in the victory over St. John's.
The Providence College men's lacrosse team returns to action on April 17 against the Marquette Golden Eagles. Face-off is set for 11:00 a.m. at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I.
