Grillo, Burgdorf and Romeo Earn BIG EAST Weekly Honors

The awards come following their performances in the 12-8 victory over Marquette on March 13.

New York, N.Y.- Providence College men's lacrosse players Matt Grillo (Setauket, N.Y.), Toby Burgdorf (Westfield, N.J.) and RJ Romeo (Wilton, Conn.) all earned BIG EAST Weekly Awards on March 16 after their performances in the BIG EAST match against Marquette on March 13. The Friars defeated the Golden Eagles, 12-8. 
 
Grillo earned BIG EAST Attack of the Week following his season-high five goal performance, including the game-winning goal against the Golden Eagles. This marks his first hat-trick of the season, 10th of his career. 
 
Burgdorf tabbed BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after tying his season-best in saves (14) and picking up four groundballs against the Golden Eagles. He held a .636 save percentage in the victory. 
 
Romeo was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after dominating the "X" in Saturday's match. Romeo went 17-23 (73.9-percent) at face-offs and picked up seven groundballs. 
 
The Friars return to action on Saturday, March 20 against #4/#4 Georgetown. Face-off is set for 12:00 p.m. at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I.
