Nick Tommasi Named Men’s Lacrosse Captain

The graduate student has picked up seven groundballs and caused three turnover this season.
PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Providence College men's lacrosse Head Coach Chris Gabrielli announced that graduate student Nick Tommasi (Pittsburgh, Pa.) has been named captain for the 2021 season.
"Nick was already conducting himself like a captain every day," Gabrielli said. "This promotion was necessary to not only thank him, but also send a message to our younger team members that this is what effective leadership looks like. Nick has had to earn everything he's gotten. He's willing to be confrontational, he's vocal and no one cares about the well-being of the program more than Nick."
The defenseman has picked up seven groundballs and caused three turnovers this season. The Friars return to action on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 2:00 p.m. ET against Denver in Denver, Colo.
