BALTIMORE, MD. – Inside Lacrosse released its 2020 Men's Lacrosse Division One Maverik Media All-Americans today [Apr. 1]. Providence College goaltender
Toby Burgdorf (Westfield, N.J.) was recognized as an All-America Honorable Mention.
Burgdorf put together an exceptional season between the pipes with a 5-1 record in his first year as the Friars' full-time goaltender. The junior finished the season ranked second in the nation in save percentage (.628), third in goals against average (7.94) and 13th in saves per game (13.50). He was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week three times (Feb. 10, Feb. 17, March 4) and earned BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll recognition on March 9.
Burgdorf is the third Friar to earn Inside Lacrosse Maverik Media All-America Honors, and second goaltender. Former Friar goalie
Tate Boyce '19, was an honorable mention selection in 2017, while
Jarrod Neumann '17 was a third-team selection in 2017.
Boyce (Waterdogs LC) and Neumann (Chaos LC) are heading into season two of the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) in 2020. In 2019, Neumann was named PLL Defensive Player of the Year, PLL All-Pro and was selected to play in the league's inaugural All-Star Game.
