PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Providence College men's lacrosse Head Coach
Chris Gabrielli announced the program's 2020 captains. Seniors
Tim Hinrichs (Amherst, N.H.) and
Nick Shaw (Canton, Mass.) will be leading the Friars comprised of 30 returners and 15 newcomers.
"We are thrilled to announce our captains for 2019-2020," Gabrielli said. "Tim and Nick have played many roles for us throughout their career, and the team has always come first. I have complete confidence and trust in their ability to execute and uphold the 'PC WAY' on and off the field. I'm excited to empower them and witness the growth our program experiences under their leadership."
Hinrichs comes off the 2019 campaign playing in 15 games, including 11 starts. The senior midfielder tallied 29 points on 13 goals and 15 assists and recorded a point in all but one of his appearances. His most notable performance in 2019 came against Sacred Heart, when he registered six points on five assists and a goal. Hinrichs earned a spot on the All-BIG EAST Second Team. Off the field, Hinrichs was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma which recognizes student-athletes who have earned a 3.4 cumulative grade point average or higher.
Shaw appeared in 15 games for the Friars, including one start. The senior midfielder tallied eight total points on five goals and three assists along with 28 ground balls last season. The Massachusetts native was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Feb. 25.

The Friars will be hosting a tri-scrimmage on Oct. 13 with Yale and Stony Brook on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium. Providence has partnered with Vs. Cancer Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation for this event. To donate to the cause, please visit
