PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Three members of the Providence College men's lacrosse team earned All-BIG EAST recognition from the conference office on Wednesday, May 1. Tate Boyce (Matthews, N.C.) was unanimously selected as BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year and also earned a spot on the First Team. Nick Hatzipetrakos (Syosset, N.Y.) and Tim Hinrichs (Amherst, N.H.) were named to the Second Team.

Boyce, the Friars' senior goalkeeper, is the most decorated player in program history. He has racked up numerous awards during the 2019 season, including Preseason All-BIG EAST honors, USILA DI Team of the Week recognition (Feb. 26) and four BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors (Feb. 25, Feb. 26, Mar. 19, Apr. 29). Additionally, he was one of 50 players named to the Tewaarton Watch List for the second-straight season, and was one of 10 players named a finalist for the prestigious Senior CLASS Award.

Boyce is the first player in program history to earn All-BIG EAST First Team honors in each of his four seasons at Providence. Boyce also earned BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year honors for the second time in his career, having previously claimed the honor in 2017. He's the program's only goalkeeper to win the award in multiple seasons. In 15 starts during the 2019 campaign, he has posted a 9.91 goals against average and a .565 save percentage. He ranks second in the BIG EAST in goals against average, first in save percentage and first in saves per game (12.67). Boyce also ranks first among active NCAA Division I goaltenders in career saves with a school-record 715 stops in net.

Hatzipetrakos, who was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team in 2017, has had an impressive offensive campaign for the Friars in 2019. He has recorded 43 points on 37 goals and six assists. He leads the team in goals, is tied for the team-lead in points, ranks fourth in the league in goals per game (2.47) and leads the conference in shot percentage (.425). This season, Hatzipetrakos has only been held off the scoresheet in two games. He has posted three-or-more goals in eight games this season, including seven-straight hat tricks from Feb. 9 through March 19. The senior attackman was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on March 11 and April 8.

Hatzipetrakos became the 23rd player in program history to hit 100 career points on March 24. He is currently tied for 14th all-time in points (114) and ranks 11th in all-time goals (86) at Providence College.

Hinrichs, a junior, has played in 14 games with 10 appearances in the starting line-up for the Friars this season. He enters BIG EAST Tournament play with 12 goals and 16 assists for 28 points. Hinrichs currently ranks second on the team in assists and ranks 10th in the BIG EAST in assists per game (1.17). On April 1, he was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, following a team-high three points in an overtime win at St. John's.
