Former Friars Lacrosse Stand-Out Jarrod Neumann Named To U.S. Lacrosse Roster For Fall Classic

The 2019 Fall Classic will be held on Oct. 18-20 at U.S. Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Former Providence College men's lacrosse player Jarrod Neumann '17 is one of 27 players that will represent the United States at the 2019 Fall Classic. The event will be held at U.S. Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md.
 
The U.S. men's team will open competition on Friday, Oct. 18 against its main rival, Canada, in the first meeting between the two countries in field lacrosse since the U.S. defeated Canada in the 2018 World Championship. The United States will also play 2019 NCAA champion Virginia on Oct. 19 and will close the weekend with an exhibition game against Canada on Oct. 20. The exhibition game will use trial rules developed by World Lacrosse.
 
Neumann has established himself as one of the top defenders in the sport. During this year's inaugural Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) season, Neumann played for Chaos LC. He was named PLL Defensive Player of the Year and claimed PLL All-Star and PLL All-Pro recognition. During PLL All-Star Weekend, Neumann won the skills challenge for fastest shot, clocking in at 115 miles per hour.
 
Neumann graduated from Providence College in 2017 and went on to serve as the lacrosse program's graduate assistant, while completing his Masters of Business Administration. In his senior season, Neumann earned USILA/Nike Second-Team All-America recognition and was named to the Inside Lacrosse Media All-America Third-Team. Additionally, he nabbed BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year as well as All-BIG EAST First Team recognition, BIG EAST All-Tournament Team honors and NEILA All-New England First-Team accolades. Neumann also competed in the 76th Annual USILA/Nike North-South All-Star Game. He was previously drafted 38th overall by the Colorado Mammoth of the NLL (Sept. 2017) and 25th overall by the Florida Launch of the MLL (May 2017).
