The Friars play two games on Friday night at Stony Brook and are also working toward completing a team fundraising initiative.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's lacrosse team is set to play two fall contests at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium on the campus of Stony Brook University on Friday, October 26. The Friars will face Monmouth University at 6:15 p.m. before taking on Stony Brook at 8:00 p.m.

""We are very excited to travel to Long Island to compete against two very tough and well coached teams in Stony Brook and Monmouth this weekend," Head Coach Chris Gabrielli said. "The fall offers very few opportunities to compete against outside competition, so we hope to take advantage of this chance to play hard and grow as a team."

In addition to focusing on getting back on the field, the program is using Friday's games as another opportunity to make progress on a team fundraising initiative. The Friars are taking part in Lacrosse Vs. Cancer, a signature fundraising campaign of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

"We are using this fantastic lacrosse platform to promote our program's fundraising effort for the Children of Hasbro Children's Hospital," Gabrielli said. "Our program has a great relationship with Hasbro, and through our partnership with the Vs. Cancer Foundation we hope to raise significant funds for these children. I know that our current players, their families, our alumni and our friends of the program will step up for this great cause!"
