Christina Putigna Named Hockey East Top Performer

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – In an announcement made by Hockey East on Feb. 8, Christina Putigna (Grimsby, Ontario) was named a Hockey East Top Performer. This is the third weekly honor for the freshman forward, who was also named the Pro-Ambition Hockey East Rookie of the Month for the month of November.

Putigna scored her sixth and seventh power play goals of the season over the weekend (Feb. 6 & 7). On Feb. 6, the freshman forward registered her ninth goal of the season against No. 5 Northeastern. Putigna scored her 10th goal on Feb. 8 on the power play.

After the weekend, Putigna now ranks third nationally in power play goals and first among freshmen.
