Peter Badgley Named BIG EAST Defensive Player Of The Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College men's lacrosse senior goalie Peter Badgley (Summit, N.J.) was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, April 27.

Badgley recorded 18 saves for the Friars' 6-5 win versus Villanova on Saturday, April 25. Badgley currently leads the league and is second in the nation in saves per game with 13.36.

This is Badgley's third time receiving BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors in the 2015 season. He first received the honor on March 9 when he made 20 saves in the Friars' 11-8 win versus Sacred Heart. He received the award again last week (April 20) after recording 36 saves in two games against Brown and Denver. Badgley set a career-high 21 saves in Providence's 13-9 loss versus No. 14 Brown on Tuesday, April 14. In the Friars 13-9 loss at No. 5 Denver, Badgley made 15 saves for Providence.

For the season, Badgley has made 187 saves on the season in 800:49 minutes of play.
