WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Providence College women's hockey senior forward Beth Hanrahan (Poolesville, Md.) has been named the recipient of the Hockey East Sportsmanship Award it was announced by the conference today, Wednesday, March 4.
Hanrahan is the second straight Friar to earn the award, as senior Haley Frade (Marion, Mass.) earned the award last season.
Hanrahan concluded the 2014-15 season as the Friars' point-leader (26) on a team-best 15 goals and 11 assists. The senior finished the year with three penalties, including just one in conference play. Eighteen of Hanrahan's 26 points came in Hockey East play (9g, 9a).
Overall in conference statistics, the forward ended the season tied for fifth in shots on goal (138), tied for seventh in short-handed goals (1), tied for 10th in overall scoring (15) and tied for 10th in game-winning goals (2). Hanrahan was a two-time Hockey East Top Performer (11/24 and 12/1) as well as the Hockey East Warrior Player of the Week (1/12).
Hanrahan recorded three games with two goals, at Maine (2-1 OT win), against Brown (4-2 win) and at RPI (3-3 OT tie). She played in every game of her four-year career, putting her in a tie for first on Providence's all-time games played list, with 143 games.
