Sarah Beal Named To BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College point guard Sarah Beal (Matthews, N.C.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for women's basketball on Monday, February 3. Beal earns league recognition for the second-consecutive week, having been named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Jan. 27.
In two games last week, Beal averaged 13.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 3.0 steals per game. On Jan. 28, she recorded her first career double-double with 13 points and 13 assists, and added two steals. Beal's 13 assists were one shy of the BIG EAST single-game record for a freshman.
Through 21 games this season, Beal is averaging 11.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.7 steals per game. She has reached double figures in the scoring column 15 during 15 games, including three 20+ point games. Beal also has dished five-or-more assists in 10 games.
The Friars return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 5 against BIG EAST foe Villanova. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Alumni Hall/Mullaney Gymnasium in Providence, R.I.
