Men's Lacrosse Hosts Successful Coaches Clinic

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

The Providence College men's lacrosse program hosted its second free coaches clinic on Thursday, Oct. 30 at Schneider Arena, the home of the Friar lacrosse program. The event ran from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and focused on the fundamentals of lacrosse. Drills and concepts were presented to coaches working with players ranging from newcomers to those competing at the collegiate level.

"My staff and I would like to sincerely thank the 30 coaches that joined us for our 2nd Annual Free Coaches Clinic last night here at Providence College," said Head Coach Chris Gabrielli. "We shared some coaching concepts and techniques that we have learned over the years and have implemented here at Providence College in hopes of helping the game grow in a positive manner here in New England. We were humbled by the turnout, and hope that the event will grow each year."

The clinic was held in the Friars' state-of-the-art video room. Gabrielli, along with assistant coaches Brett Holm, John Galloway and Ryan Liebel presented on various components of the game .

Gabrielli and his staff have a passion for the game of lacrosse and look at clinics as opportunities to teach local coaches skills that their teams can benefit come in their upcoming seasons. "As promised, we have made the power point presentations that my staff and I used last night available at www.friars.com, and we strongly encourage local youth and high school coaches to reach out to us anytime. We want to help!"
