PROVIDENCE, R.I. -
The Providence College women's basketball team will host Marquette in BIG EAST Conference action on Tuesday, February 26. The game will be played at Alumni Hall/Mullaney Gymnasium in Providence, R.I. and is scheduled to tip-off at 7:05 p.m. Cox Sports will televise the game live, locally, on Cox channel 1005 (HD) / 5 (SD).
The game will serve as the back drop for the program's annual Think Pink initiative, which helps to raise funds and awareness in the fight against cancer. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game. The Friars will be wearing custom-made pink uniforms to show their support.
Donations will be taken at the door, and Think Pink T-Shirts also will be sold for $8. All proceeds collected at the game will support the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Center.
The uniforms will be added to an online auction on Friars.com, beginning Wednesday, February 27 at 10:00 a.m. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Kay Yow Foundation. The opening bid for each pink uniform will begin at $85. However, each jersey also will have a "Buy It Now" option for $300. The auction will conclude on Wednesday, March 13 at 10:00 a.m.
