Women's Basketball Embarks On BIG EAST Tournament Play

Bracket - 2012 BIG EAST Women's Basketball Championship 
The Providence College women's basketball team will begin play at the BIG EAST Women's Basketball Championship on Friday, March 2. Providence has earned the No. 13 seed and will face No. 12 seed Syracuse at Noon. All games of the tournament will be played at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn.
Providence finished the conference slate with a 5-11 record, while Syracuse finished in a three-way tie for 10th place with Villanova and Cincinnati at 6-10. Syracuse finished as the No. 12 seed by virtue of its losses to Villanova and Cincinnati.
The game between Providence and Syracuse will be televised live online by visiting the leagues Championship Central page at www.bigeast.org/wbb
The winner of the Providence vs. Syracuse first-round match-up will advance to face No. 5 seed West Virginia on Saturday, March 3 at Noon.
Ticket packages to all 15 games of the championship may still be purchased at the reduced price of $99.00 each, which is discounted by nearly one half of the face value. Single-session tickets go on sale on Feb. 28.
To charge tickets by phone, call Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000. In addition, tickets can be purchased online by logging on to the XL Center website at www.xlcenter.com.
Tickets can also be purchased at the XL Center ticket office beginning Feb. 28 at 12 p.m. Weekday box office hours are Noon-5 p.m. For weekend events, the ticket office will open four hours prior to the start of an event. All ticket purchases are subject to additional convenience fees.
