Providence, R.I. - Providence College lacrosse Head Coach Chris Gabrielli announced his team's schedule for the 2013 season on Wednesday, Oct. 17. The schedule will be highlighted by six BIG EAST games. The Friars open up their 2013 campaign on Friday, Feb. 15, at Wagner.

The 2013 slate will include eight home contests to be played on Lennon Family Field, with the home-opener scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 23, against Vermont. The home schedule wraps up on Saturday, April 27, with a BIG EAST game versus St. John's.

The conference slate sees each team play three home games and three road games. This season, the Friars will host Syracuse (3/19), Notre Dame (4/7) and St. John's (4/20). The Friars will travel to Georgetown (3/16), Rutgers (3/30) and Villanova (4/27).

The BIG EAST conference is sponsoring men's lacrosse for its fourth season in 2013. The league proved to be among the best in the country in 2012 with two of the seven BIG EAST teams being represented in the NCAA tournament. Notre Dame entered the tournament ranked No. 4 in the country and was eliminated from championship play after falling to the 2012 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Champions, the Loyola Greyhounds, 7-5, in the semifinals. Syracuse was not ranked heading into the tournament and was eliminated in the first round after losing to No. 3 Duke, 12-9.

The Friars are scheduled to compete in 10 non-conference games in the 2013 season. Providence will host five games including Vermont (2/23), Manhattan (3/2), Sacred Heart (3/9), Siena (3/23) and Brown (4/16). The Friars will travel to Wagner (2/15), Quinnipiac (3/12), Bryant (3/26), Yale (4/2) and Holy Cross (4/13).
