Providence College men's lacrosse Head Coach Chris Burdick announced the 2010 recipients of the program's annual awards on Tuesday, May 25. Senior attackman Garrett Kanter (Marblehead, Mass.) earned the prestigious Mark C. Cordon "Heart and Soul" award while junior midfielder Mike Feldberg (Voorhees, N.J.) received the Thomas Spignesi/Matt Berk/James Courter Legacy award.

MAJOR AWARDS
Mark C. Cordon "Heart and Soul" Award - Garrett Kanter (Sr., A, Marblehead, Mass.)
This award recognizes the individual who most represents the qualities of hard work and dedication as seen from former Friar Mark Cordon. This individual represents the values and integrity of the program and stands up against adversity to continue to move the program in the direction of being the most respected in the Nation. This award is the highest honor in the lacrosse program at Providence College.
Thomas Spignesi/Matt Berk/James Courter Legacy Award - Mike Feldberg (Jr., M, Voorhees, N.J.)
This award identifies the individual who most contributed to the legacy of commitment and service to the program's mission. Named after program originator Thomas Spignesi and later co-named after Matt Berk and James Courter, this is the second-highest award in the lacrosse program at Providence College.
Steve O'Donnell Coach's Award - Ryan Vermette (Sr., D, Topsham, Maine)
The award is named after the program's all-time winningest coach, Steve O'Donnell. This award recognizes the recipient's commitment to bringing the coaching of the program to the team.

Academic Achievement Award - Steve Lydon (Jr., M, Braintree, Mass.)
The award is given in recognition of outstanding achievement in academic studies at the college.
Bruce "Tough As Nails" Award - Andrew Bromley (So., A, Surrey, British Columbia)
The award is given in recognition of this individual who displayed a "tough as nails" attitude that exemplified the play of former Friar John McCullough whom the award is named after.
Campus Pride Award - Tim Barry (Sr., M, Silver Spring, Md.)
This award recognizes this individual's commitment to the campus community by setting the example of class and consideration for others in the community.
Tim Connelly Unsung Hero Award - Brian Ikeda (Sr., D, Berwyn, Pa.)
Named after Tim Connelly, this award recognizes the individual who did not receive acclaim but whose unselfish efforts were most valuable to the program.
Offensive Leader Award - Jackson Fallon (Sr., M, Arlington, Mass.)
The award is given in recognition of this individual's leadership in executing the team's offensive philosophy.
Mike Chapey Offensive MVP Award - Kyle Dexter (Fr., M, Victoria, British Columbia)
The award recognizes this individual's outstanding offensive performance and is named after 1986 graduate Mike Chapey.
Tim West Defensive Leader Award - Christian Dzwilewski (So., GK, Huntington, N.Y.)
This award is given in recognition of this individual's leadership in executing the defensive philosophy of the program and is named after alum Tim West.
Brian O'Rorke Defensive MVP Award - Ryan Riedl (Sr., D, Winchester, Mass.)
This award is named after the most decorated defender in program history and three-time MAAC Defensive Player of the Year Brian O'Rorke. It recognizes this individual's outstanding defensive performance.
Jay Sabatoni "Hammer" Award - Chris Donato (Jr., D, Laytonsville, Md.)
This award, named after one of the most physical players in program history Jay Sabitoni, recognizes the individual who brought a physical presence to the team.
Most Improved Player Award - Colin Benelli (Fr., D, Braintree, Mass.)
The award is given in recognition of this individual's growth as a player over the season.
Kyle Ojakian "Playmaker" Award - Jake Nolan (So., M, Westport, Conn.)
This award is named after the program single-season assist leader Kyle Ojakian. It recognizes the team's assist leader.
Outstanding Rookie Award - Billy Falatko (Fr., D, Silver Spring, Md.)
The award recognizes this season's best performance by a new player.
Outstanding Teammate Award - Brent Mayo (So., M, Scarborough, Maine)
This award recognizes the individual who brought the most positive approach to supporting his teammates.
