PROVIDENCE, R.I. - It was announced by the Hockey East Association that freshman forward Nicole Anderson (Jordan, Minn.) was named Hockey East Rookie of the Week on Monday, February 8 after leading the Friars to a 2-1 victory over No. 7 Northeastern on Saturday, February 6.

Anderson scored with under three minutes remaining in the game to give No. 10 Providence the victory and propel the Friars into first place in the Hockey East standings. The goal was Anderson's 10th of the season and second game winner. This marks Anderson's second rookie of the week honor. She earned the award after notching four points with a hat trick and an assist in PC's 6-2 victory over then No. 8 Boston University on November 15.
