Providence College Friars (5-6, 4-2 MAAC): The Providence College men's lacrosse team is scheduled to host VMI in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action on Saturday, April 24 at 2:00 p.m. in Providence, R.I. Providence is coming off a disappointing, 7-4, loss to Marist, who is undefeated in the conference, on April 20. The Friars played a close game as they went into halftime tied, 1-1, with the first place Red Foxes. Providence, however, could not keep pace in the second half as Marist tallied six goals to their three. Junior Jonathan Hollister (Longmeadow, Mass.) led the Friar attack with two goals, while fellow junior Andrew McMinn (Pittsburgh, Pa.) started in net for Providence and made seven saves as his record fell to 4-4 (3-1 MAAC).

Junior Dan Giuntini's (Floral Park, N.Y.) 22 points (19 goals, three assists) leads the Friars though 11 games. Freshman Brendan Ryan (Chatham, N.J.) is second on the team with 18 points (four goals and 14 assists), while Hollister is third with 15 points (eight goals, seven assists). McMinn has been the teams' primary goaltender this season, playing 436:28 minutes in the cage. McMinn has a 8.11 goals against average and a .550 save percentage.

Junior Mark Rotella (Smithtown, N.Y.) has taken the majority of the face-offs this season and currently has a .551 face-off percentage (70-127). Senior defenseman Brian O'Rorke (Montclair, N.J.) leads the team with 40 groundballs.

VMI Keydets (0-9, 0-6 MAAC): VMI enters Saturday's MAAC match up against Providence with a 0-9 overall record and a 0-6 mark in league play. The Keydets finished the 2003 season, their first in the MAAC, 4-8 overall and 4-4 in conference. This season VMI is led in scoring by Robert Trimble with seven goals and 12 assists for 19 points. Erik Rohrmann and Gabe McCraig are tied for second with 18 points on 16 goals and two assists and 10 goals and eight assists, respectively. Rohrmann leads the team in goals (16), while Trimble leads the team in assists (12). Goalkeeper Matt Hook has played the majority of minutes for the Keydets posting a 0-7 overall record with a .487 save percentage and a 15.67 goals against average. Hook ranks fourth in the MAAC in saves per game with 12.86.
