Kelli Halcisak Named Second Team All-American

It was announced on Friday, March 21 that Providence College junior defenseman Kelli Halcisak (Grosse Ile, Mich.) was named to the 2002-2003 American Hockey Coaches Association's All-American Second Team.

Halcisak earned the honor for her strong play throughout the season and her ability to influence the outcome of a game. She led the Friars and HOCKEY EAST in scoring this season with 14 goals and 31 assists for a total of 45 points, making her second in scoring among the nation's defensemen.

Halcisak, who also earned HOCKEY EAST First Team All-Star honors, All-Tournament Team honors and Tournament Most Valuable Player honors, is the first Friar defenseman to be named an All-American.

Kelli is the daughter of Tom and Anne Halcisak.
