The Division I women's USA Today/American Hockey Magazine preseason ice hockey poll was released on Tuesday, October 7 and the Friars were ranked fifth.

After winning the inaugural Women's HOCKEY EAST title, the school's eighth league title and their second in a row, expectations are high for the Friars. As Providence sets their sights on the Frozen Four, which will be hosted by Yale University in Providence this March, they have held on to the nucleus of their championship team from last season. While the Friars lost three key players to graduation, they have reloaded with five talented newcomers that will be counted on to contribute on a nightly basis.

Providence opens the regular season on the road with games at Vermont and St. Lawrence on Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19 at 2:00 p.m.
