Women's Ice Hockey Ranked No. 7 in National Polls

The Providence College women's ice hockey team fell two spots to No. 7 in the U.S. College Hockey Online Poll and in the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Poll. The Friars, who went 1-1 last week, defeated Northeastern, 6-3, on Friday, January 3 and fell to then No. 9 Princeton on Sunday, January 5, 4-3.

Harvard, Minnesota-Duluth, and Minnesota stayed ranked No. 1, 2, 3, respectively in both polls. In the USA Today poll, New Hampshire moved up one spot to No. 6 as Princeton jumped two spots to No. 8. Wisconsin and Mercyhurst fell to No. 9 and No. 10, respectively. In the USCHO.com poll St. Lawrence and New Hampshire each climbed one spot to No. 5 and No. 6, respectively, while No. 8 Princeton and No. 9 Wisconsin switched places from last week.

Providence plays a two games series this weekend on Friday, January 10 at 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, January 11 at 2:00 p.m. when they host the Niagara University Purple Eagles.
